Bellingham TechNight – A one Night Career Fair for Local Tech Jobs
Bellingham, WA 10/18/07 – Bellingham TechNight - the first ever technology career fair in Bellingham will be held at the Bellwether Ballroom in Bellingham on Thursday, October 25 between 7 and 9PM. Organized by Logos Bible Software in partnership with the Technology Alliance Group (TAG), Bellingham TechNight provides an opportunity for hiring technology companies to meet job seekers face-to-face.
The Bellingham TechNight will feature exhibits by a dozen participating companies as well as brief presentations where tech employers will have the opportunity to introduce their company and career opportunities. Examples of companies that will be participating in the event are Applied Digital Imaging, Big Fresh Media, Black Rock Cable, City of Bellingham, Dealer Information Systems Corporation, DeWaard & Jones, Emergency Reporting, Logos Bible Software, NW Technology, SPIE, TEKsystems and Toolhouse Design Company. Participating companies are looking to fill positions in a variety of technology jobs at all different levels ranging from entry level to advanced positions, including internships.
The idea for the event came from Logos Bible Software, recently ranked as one of the fastest growing private technology companies in the nation by .Inc Magazine. “With the growth of Logos Bible Software it has been difficult to find sufficient qualified software developers and other tech people through traditional means such as job ads. In talking to other technology entrepreneurs it became apparent that we are not alone. There are a lot of companies in the area with immediate and urgent needs to fill vacancies in tech jobs and so the idea of the Bellingham TechNight was born,” says Bob Pritchett CEO and President of Logos Bible Software.
Apart from connecting employers with job seekers, the goal of Bellingham TechNight is to raise the profile of local technology employers, and give job seekers, as well as people interested in a career move, a chance to learn about the opportunities that exist with local tech employers. “There is still a perception that you have to ‘go south’ to find challenging and rewarding careers in technology—which is not true. We have a diverse set of growing technology companies locally that are actively looking for tech workers in varied fields including but not limited to programmers, network administrators, technical sales and more,” says Anna Ehnmark Executive Director of TAG.
The event is free and open to the public. Bring a resume or business card and join us for dessert, coffee, door prizes and more!
