Dear TAG Members and Friends,

Wow, what an overwhelming response to our recent TAG Future Planning survey! We heard from close to 200 of you who are passionate about technology in our area. You have really made it clear to TAG what we should be focused on to make us all more successful.

Here is what TAG has learned:

1. Most of you are owning/running/managing your own businesses or departments in larger organizations.
2. Many of you provide direct technology products or services but we also attract service providers.
3. There is some confusion about the relationship between TAG and the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA).
4. The membership costs are too high.
5. You enjoy the TAG lunch meetings when the topics are relevant.
6. You value TAG's newsletter and offered some suggestions on how we can improve.
7. You understand the importance of advocacy at the state and local level and want TAG to help with that.
8. Most of you value TAG's Special Projects including Technology Industry surveys, Promoting university-industry partnerships and the Technology Development Center.

Thank you again for taking the time to fill out the survey and share your feedback. We are hard at work figuring out what to change and will be getting back to you soon with some enhancements to make TAG work more efficiently for you.

This is a friendly reminder that you are invited to an Industry Tour of the Technology Development Center on July 22, 2010. 

Join us on Thursday, July 22 for a tour of the Bellingham Technology Development Center and learn about business opportunities to partner with Western Washington University on applied research and development projects that can benefit your company! The program will include:

• A tour of the Technology Development Center facilities
• An overview of R&D resources offered by Western Washington University’s College of Sciences and Technology including but not limited to specialized equipment, student talent, and technical expertise
• A facilitated discussion to identify industry R&D needs and opportunities for collaborative applied research projects

You will meet faculty from the College of Sciences and Technology who have experience working on projects with advanced manufacturing industry applications.  

When: Thursday, July 22, 3:30-5PM
Where: Technology Development Center, 1000 F street, Bellingham (on F Street and Roeder Ave)
Who should attend:  Business owners, Technical, and R&D managers of companies focused in areas of industrial
design and advanced manufacturing

Refreshments such as coffee and cookies will be provided.

This is an invitation-only meeting and the number of seats is limited.
