TAG was founded in 1999 to serve technology companies in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties. Our mission is to promote, educate, and advocate for Northwest Washington technology businesses. Upcoming Events:  July 18, TAG's Monthly Luncheon
On July 18 we had the pleasure to invite Ken Myer, President & CEO of the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) to present to TAG members and guests. WTIA is the largest state-wide association of technology companies and executives in the world with more than 1,000 member companies. Ken's talk included a brief update on the state of technology in Washington and an overview of programs and services such as the many discounted business services available to TAG members through our association. Join us on April 18 for TAG's monthly luncheon to learn strategies that companies like Starbucks and Cascade Dafo have utilized to creatively partner with Western Washington University to fill the "technical talent gaps" in their organizations.
Visit TAG's exhibit at Linuxfest Northwest on April 26 and 27. The Linuxfest Northwest is the largest Linux and open source conference in the Pacific Northwest and it is happening right here in Bellingham at the Bellingham Technical College. On Friday March 21 Bob Jones owner and co-founder of the Socrates Group presented on the topic 'Confessions of a Recovering Engineer". This was the second presentation in a series of War Stories from local technology entrepreneurs and the topic for the March luncheon is 'Confessions of a recovering engineer'.

TAG's February 15 lunch featured Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder Adrian Mintz of Emergency Reporting. Emergency Reporting is a leading provider of Fire Department and EMS software serving civilian and military customers nationwide. Adrian will share stories from the front line, including topics, "How do you bootstrap your technology? What's the REAL cost of developing your internal applications in house? What barriers are you likely to run into, and how do you successfully get around them?
The February meeting was also TAG's annual membership meeting where we asked our members to elect TAG's 2008 Board of Directors. We also took the opportunity to give thanks to our funding partners and other contributors that made our expanded services and programs possible in the past year.
On Ferbuary 7 TAG attended the 13th Annual Industry Achievement Awards hosted by the Washington Technology Industry Association in Seattle. The event recognizes local companies, agencies and individuals who best demonstrate innovation and excellence in creating technology or serving the industry.

January 18, 2008. At TAG's January luncheon Mark Anderson, a noted technology expert and futurist, presented his predictions on technology and the economy for 2008. This is the fourth year we have the pleasure of inviting Mark Anderson to speak to our group and as usual he attracted a big crowd. TAG's next monthly meeting on February 15, 2008 is our annual member meeting. Apart from a brief update on our plans for 2008 and the election of the 2008 Board of Directors this meeting will feature war stories by local tech company Emergency Reporting. We look forward to seeing you again on Friday, February 15.
On December 6, 2007 TAG held its year-end scholarship awards program and holiday event. This year the generosity of TAG members and guests provided five scholarships to students in technology professions at Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College, Northwest Indian College, Bellingham Technical College, and the Whatcom Tech Prep Consortium. This is our way of giving back to our community and supporting the future of technology in our area.
